A gantry crane is a type of overhead crane with a single or double girder configuration supported by freestanding legs that move on wheels or along a track or rail system.

Our Training courses are designed to meet the latest standards set by the accrediting bodies association – workplace Transport (ABA) and are delivered by experienced AITT accredited instructors.
Course Aims:
- To have a basic understanding of relevant regulations such as HASWA 1974, PUWER 1998 AND LOLER 1998.
- To have a basic understanding of their responsibilities as an operator and hazard awareness within the industry.
- To identify the main components of the crane and their functions.
- The importance of PPE.
- The roles of Banksman, slinger, load handler and crane operator.
- Importance of LOLER focal points
- Correct storage and use of lifting equipment.
- Identifying lifting equipment defects.
- Conduct pre-use checks in accordance with relevant legislation.
- Practical use and safe operation of Cranes.
